Tartaglia was released back in Genshin Impact 1.1. Does he still keep up with the best 2 years later?

  1. And the funny thing is Childe is my first 5 star wayy back in 1.1. I used to use him wrongly when i wanted him to be main dps ( becus hes my only 5 star) but realized hes a enabler and quickswap. I slowly picked him back up after international team arises

  2. One thing about his CD that people overlook is that he has more "flexibility" than someone like Ayato. This is because unlike every other character with Childe you're in control of how long you want to use him. Everyone else will stop because of how their skills work, like with Ayato, Hu Tao, Raiden etc. You can only use their skills until however many slashes/secs until you're on cooldown and are forced to switch off. With Childe even after your supports are off field, if you need a bit more damage to finish off the abyss floor or an enemy you can stay in his stance until the job is done, and that time is very generous. It happens more often than you'd think in abyss specifically.

  3. Wanna hear something funny about Childe? His Riptide flash (when you hit enemies with aimed shots) counts as normal attack damage, and they benefit from anything that buffs or triggers on normal attacks! Yunjin's burst can make his riptide procs deal more damage than the charged shot that triggered them (they hit 3x per shot). The 4-pc Echoes of an offering set also works on riptide, which works similarly to Yunjin's burst. Don't sleep on any part of his kit. He's incredibly unique even by today's standards, and you can do all kinds of crazy stuff.

  4. He is powerful but hard to use, and a lot of the videos showcasing him are using op supports like c2 Kazuha with freedom sworn which makes him look much better than he is. I have Childe but I don't have Kazuha and his playstyle is not at all as smooth for me without Kazuha as what I've seen in videos. I tried Sucrose, and she just felt bad with him. I normally use Venti as my anemo support, but Childe cannot reach Venti burst lol. At the end of the day I just go back to my Ayato and it feels a lot better since I can use him with Venti and he has big range so I don't need the enemies to all be right in my face.

  5. Walrus, would love a dendro guide for Childe. Best teams for burgeon, hyperbloom, fridge, etc. Newer player. Loved his play style on the story quest. Got lucky with early nahida pull. I am guessing he would syngerize great with thoma for burgeon, given thoma is off field.

  6. Im enjoying him for sure. Pulled him looking for more a main DPS so Im trying a hyperbloom team with my limited characters (Nehida->Kuki->Childe) Its working good but definitly feel like child is the most fun part

  7. He still holds the record for my strongest single strike in the abyss, despite me having so many other 5* dps like hu tao, raiden, ganyu, xiao, etc. Not only that, he’s one of the only dps where running a full 4* support team (taser, national) is already amazing and absolutely not dependent on other 5* to increase his damage output by a massively significant amount compared to the other strong team builds (ganyu permafreeze, hu tao now with yelan, superconduct eula). Like his best team, national, only has a slightly higher damage output switching Kazuha for sucrose. He’s so fun to play as he fits in so many unique team comps and procs so many unique reactions due to being hydro.

  8. Haven't seeing a single cc " misinforming" about Childe being out of the meta. Surely i have seen one ( you) misinforming about lots of other characters ( Ayato, Cyno, Itto, Tighnari…wait now i get it…they have no boobs and don't dance around in battle lingerie like Yelan! that's why they're " mid")

  9. He might be outdated or complex to use as what other people say. I can say that for almost every patch, only Childe-mains can find a lot of ways to make him comfortable to play, even at C0. He's flexible in team compositions and now with Dendro, I can use him as Hyperbloom carry.

  10. Think of Tartaglia as fast Xingqiu on national… as a mobile player I prefer Ayato national over Tartaglia national having both.

This is only an issue on abyss but be prepared to Reset and try every other floor to get your 3 stars. You DO need his burst up to clear 11-12 floors on time, and he can't get enough energy while on the field for the next floor. So be prepared to reset and try again on the National Abyss team as well.

  11. I just hate his elemental skill, it feels like they punish you for using it with how long the cooldown is. Feels like he's a really inefficient driver compared to other hydro characters now because if you use him for extended periods of time, his skill won't be up again for a really long time after you swap out to reapply whatever other character's skills and bursts. My Kokomi out performs him in the role and she's also a healer so it's like…. what is the point of this character lol

  12. I've never thought Childe was very strong compared to all the other 5*s even with 5* weapons. He basically just feels like a hydro applier and that's it. Ayato feels stronger and is easier to do rotations with since the cooldown isn't outrageous. But that's my opinion.

  13. my childe main phase started back in 1.4 and benched him for a while after having him triple crowned but had other characters to work on and newer team comps to explore. So recently I got the thundering pulse on the previous banner with nahida and yoi. I must say, he's back on the line up and i'm rebuilding him with a half baked weapon, still he's doing fairly good as one of my front runners for floor 12 spiral abyss.

i think this also opened up more comps for me to explore and him to lead as a the main dps. It's a not much of a stretch to get used to his melee and charged because i see a lot of complaints with the cool down, but once you get the hang of it you'll find yourself having fun switching and doing a lot of dmg than your other characters on field.

  14. Personally I was planning on getting Childe to make the International team since it beats Raiden National in terms of AoE and arguably does similar damage in single target, but I lost the 50/50. Oh well, guess I’ll stick with Rational for the time being.
