Not all Genshin Impact units are built the same. In this case, Nilou is looking to be an extremely niche character and at this point in time I’m not sure if that’s what I’m looking for.

We should just let people who don’t want end game content pull for her, that way they can see how much less money they’ll make
I've actually decided quite the opposite. I'll only be pulling for niche or units I really like (looks, VA, personality, etc) like Nilou, Shenhe and similar. I already have all generalist characters, most of which I don't even use. I have 3 teams that can clear abyss even with bad cards or ignoring blessing of abyssal moon but playing just those would drive me insane.
I really don't get why people don't like Nilou? You can still play her as just a regular hydro unit but no other unit can make bloom work. She will never get powercrept since MHY won't release another character just for bloom teams.

All new characters should be either a side grade / new niche / new play style entirely, only Archon should be OP. As long as they arent Qiqi or Barbara level, they should be fine.
Also here's how to build Nilou:
Nilou (full HP), Xingqiu, 1 Hydro of choice, Dendro (full EM) bloomer
apply Hydro fast with your triple Hydro characters and let the Dendro bloomer trigger the bloom, rotation is your choice.
Really sad to say this but I'm quitting genshin. I hate that it means I have to quit all the amazing content creators like yourself who made the game enjoyable to talk about when the game itself wasn't fun. I speak with my time and money and for me, this dev interview was the last straw. They've taken away all meaning in building and wishing for new characters for me since there will never be enough places to use them. Thanks Walrus

I get it but I heavily disagree for this specific character. It is speculated that she'll be mainly played for the Hydro/Dendro teams but until she is released we don't know if she's a 1 trick pony. Her kit offers her the option to be an off field Hyrdo applier and an on field Hydro DPS as well. She might actually be one of the most diverse characters we got in a while. Since we don't know what her final scalings are gonna be until she is released, I think it's dumb to just ignore them all together and assume she is just playable in Dendro teams.

I agree for the most part, half the time I don’t know why I’m pulling those characters when I already have a back log of characters I haven’t had enough resource to ascend. However, I wont complain about need to farm for things because it’s 1000% easier than having to grand exp from mobs that takes months/years like other games
I feel like Nilou will be kind of like Kazuha. This release banner will flop because there aren't really any good dendro applicators to go with Nilou, but after some cracked dendro characters release, people might want to pull for her and wait for the rerun.
I really think they shot themselves in the foot. For now, there is no valid reason to ever spend money for constellations or refinements on the weapon banner(getting the weapons themselves has one valid reason now: aesthetics). I'm interested to see player populations and banner sales for the next six months after this.
We sometimes forget, that the gacha is a big part of the game. Hoyo needs to buff the Gacha 🙂
She’s a skip for most
Nilou would be more interesting if she enabled other reactions like super burgeon and super hyper bloom or something but since you're tied to JUST hydro and JUST dendro characters for a team, that's not too exciting. Maybe when we get more dendro characters to work with, but there's not really an on field DPS dendro character to make this team more interesting. Currently it's like Nilou + Dendro Archon + idk, other two characters don't matter at all for this lol
I also own every single 5 star, don’t really like nilou so I’ll probably skip her
I think everyone is too focused on Nilou's passive when really she's meant to be played in many different ways. She can be a DPS unit, nuke unit, and with her passive you can utilize a bloom team on steroids. She's definitely an all in one package but no one really understands that for some reason.
Also on the topic of farming. It's kind of a preference thing or potentially burnout. It's in every rpg game and if not your thing then that's fine but that's just what rpg games are when it comes to leveling.
It’s a shame they made Nilou how they did , she would have way more value if you could use her the same as any other hydro character and not tied to one element I mean she has a beautiful design so I’m probably going to pull but wish I could use her in more than just dendro teams

Cyno and Nilou did not speak to me, but I was instantly in love with the cute design of Nahida. Thats why I skip those 2 to get Dendro Archon Cons.
Abyss no longer is a challenge, so I focus on characters I really want.
People mix up the fact that she can be preferebly used on dendro/hydro team yet that doesnt mean she cant use the other reactions. but yeah….do what you want to do anyways.
