Bennett is NOT Who You Think He Is (Genshin Impact Theory)

Bennett and the Mare Jivari are closely related somehow. In today’s Genshin Impact theory, we find out what that connection could be!

  1. also I think on bennett's vision story it says that when he got his vision it was in the brink of death and when h wok up his wounds have been healed with flames? or something like that, and I think phoenix have been know to be capable of healing and that's how thy get their resurrection powers

  2. my only major issue with this is that everyone in mondstat says the mare jivari has no wind, its stated many times throughout the story, so wherever benne was found couldnt have been the mare jivari…because the character that found him said "the winds were scorching"

  3. Fascinating theory! This sounds new to me, never heard of it from other theorists.

It makes me wonder if Hoyo's writers had done the entire story even during the developement stage of the game years prior to launch. It's just so interconnected and intricate.

  4. You know for a guy as unlucky as he is I'm genuinely impressed that he hasn't died yet, plus his bad luck also has a pretty low body count in general. People have gotten close to death but no permanent damage (except for a few emotional scars 🤣), so this theory makes sense.

Also I find it funny that Cyrus is all for bringing newbies to Dragonspine, but the Mare juvari is a big nope for him. Just makes the place all the more interesting.

  5. The meme about him being pyro archon is not a meme anymore 🥲 also.. Murata was not og Pyro archon? What if someone from Benny’s clan (tribe) was actually the og archon but was killed in this trial by combat that natlan has?
Like.. maybe he is OP because of hoYo’s crazy balancing thing.. but maybe its not wrong to say that he was intended to be OP from the start?
Edit: also this whole thing about abandoning baby in sea of ashes reminds me of how spartan’s use to throw baby’s down the cliffs and if they survive they would be strong enough to be included in their army (my history is a bit dusty i might be wrong about some things) idk why, it has that vibe.. maybe the kids of Natlan are being left in that sea of lava for like a test of endurance of some sorts?

  6. "The victor shall burn bright" is that the reason why his burst give active character pyro status above their health bar. Even if he is a loser in the eyes of mortal he has a burning passion to defy all odds

  7. I feel that Bennett's curse of bad luck stems from the fact that he was rescued from the Mare Jivari, and the gods didn't like it. Hence the bad luck magnet, but only when conscious

  9. I kept wondering if Bennett was the reincarnation of a spirit of misfortune or something similar, but I had never considered the Phoenix before this. And this theory just kinda makes sense

  10. I still have to watch the video but I have to say this.

Unless the skin is really really dark, a kid born with slightly dark skin (more light than dark, and then after some hours you can see the slight dark tone) if not exposed to the sun will have a really light tone of skin (despite still seeing that it's kinda dark) or not appear dark at all.

Also there's a chance that both kids are born with light skin and it's actually the place to make them have dark skin by getting tanned/the intensity of the sun.

Let's say that Bennett was left because "not good enough" while they kept his sister, if the parents are biologically light skinned but because of Natlan strong sun they get tanned, their kid will either have slight dark skin or completely light skin and when growing up the intensity of the sun will make them tanned too eventually, giving them a darker skin tone.

In Bennett situation however, he was abandoned as a child and the old mans at the Guild decided to take him (giving him like seven or more dads XD) and take care of him.

So, assuming they had really light but still slightly dark skin at birth or completely light skin at birth the place they grew up would either increase or decrease that tonality.

Bennett was left behind because he didn't had what was necessary to be a part of Natlan people, the guys in Mondstadt found him and adopted him.
Mondstadt is a place with different weathers as confirmed in the game itself, it rains, it gets cloudy, it snow etc.
And the sun intensity is less strong than Natlan one, the exposure you get from the sun in Mondstadt is not enough to make him tan to the point of getting dark skinned with time, Natlan instead have a lot of sun and it's intensity is probably one of the strongest, I also feel like kids get trained to fight since a young age making them always stay under the sun.
Strong sun intensity + always stay out for training = getting tanned to a point where they have all dark skin/their already dark skin gets even darker.

A lot of siblings separated from birth have certain differences because of the place they grow up.

While I'm not sure if Genshin will do this (they would probably get accused of white washing Bennett if they do.
I can accept some complaints about Kaeya or Xinyan getting white washed, but accusing of white washing Bennett would be stupid because this is totally different from white washing) it also have a plausible and working explanation.
They grew up in a different "territory" which affect their exterior appearance, behavior, education, traditions and culture despite they are both born in Natlan.

They still have to do this long lost siblings thing (not like Traveler, more like two siblings who don't even know the other or their connection but find out they are related) and if they will do that the only characters that fit that are Xianling and Sara or Bennett and the new character.
Remember that despite some of them aren't humans that doesn't mean they can't be related, genetic still apply to the game so there's a chance that someone is born human and the other not.

For example Xianling dad left Sara because she's not human and also left his wife/partner who lied about being human.

On the other hand Bennett family left him because he was human and kept the one who inherited the elves traits.

The two are opposites but also really similiar and since they do a lot of subplots (aka world quest) I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to do something like that with some characters that are so similiar for that exact purpose of doing a long lost siblings kind of thing.

If the Bennett thing is too complicated (because most people either aren't well informed on difference between growing up in two different places or just because they are simply stupid people who must try to create drama everywhere they go) it could also be it will be about Xianling and Sara.

Remember that it's not the name that makes the nationality, Sara may have a Japanese name but her origins are uncertain.
Her blood could be of someone from Liyue or any other region.

Edit: Also even if certain characters are born in Natlan they don't necessarily need to be dark skinned.
Sure, it's kinda illogical and it make more sense if majority of the people have dark skin instead of having light skin, but it doesn't make impossible the chance of people having light skin in Natlan.
