  1. I saw this story completely differently. I thought Dragonspine has some power of resurrection. It helped explain, in my mind, why Durin actively made the effort to die there. So he would be resurrected 🤷🏻‍♂️

That’s where my brain went with the story

  2. Maybe since he was cover in blood ( Durin) he revived, that’s a possibility, and pallad is a agent of the fatui, got to wait next year to know more, I guess Albedo kinda merged with his brother 2in1 wild guess.

  3. first thing first, go to Dragonspine searching for clues about the father, he said that he survived after using his abilities as a hunter, so he must have a place where he lived, a cave or a tent, if everything seems posible then he is the real father, because maybe we will find a dead body.

  4. I think on continuation of Albedo story Joel will realize that its not his father but still putting the act, just for he and his fake father doesn't get lonely. It is possible Albedo and Scaramouch will have connection or fate encounter in some point on the game.

  5. Valk I love your content man but you’re thinking about this in completely the wrong way. We should let Timmy have his fake dad because it’s the only option that would give the story enough time to have his fake dad commit a lot of wrong doings, and a lot of wrong doings might lead to a story quest and that might bring a f2p like me almost 40 primos.

  6. That's a hard choice. I'll observe for a while before taking action.

    Still I don't think it's a mimick of Joel's father.
If the blood coating his body he said he woke up to is actually Durin's blood, then it's possible it's the real Father but at the cost of possibly being corrupted by Durin in the future.

  7. We are missing The other side of the Story arc
What about the feelings of the Imposter, As in Albedo cutscene it seeks out to live human life….

But what happens if the Human life is soo not cut for the imposter, Then what

I am in love with the story writers now as they are taking the game from white and black and adding Grey to the story. Really great……

  8. I think my problem with this whole thing is that it feels irrelevant because Mihoyo is going to be forced to out him as an impostor in the future because this is a limited time event. I'm open to hearing comments / being corrected on this, but basically new players in the future are not going to be able to go through this event if the quests don't stay in some form and currently, I don't think you can even find the completion of these quests in the quest archive because they're not permanent. So what's going to happen? Joserf has to be outed so that Joel can go back to waiting alone at the base camp because that's the way it is for new players. Mihoyo can probably change discussion text to be consistent with whether or not you've completed certain events, but in my mind, they've trivialized the "dilemma," unless they permanently add these quests or fundamentally change something else. There's no dilemma because the choice isn't meaningful (at least not yet).

it's kind of the same way they handled Scaramouche. I didn't start the game soon enough to do that event and I think from what I heard, meeting him in Inazuma was slightly different depending on whether you had or not in that event. But that didn't change the outcome because it couldn't.

If you're asking what I'd do personally, I don't think there's sufficient evidence to out him. There's a lot to be suspicious about, but nothing conclusive. At best, I'd share my concerns with Albedo (hopefully the real one, to not be misled) to see if there were some way to verify. Otherwise, much like Among Us, the only conclusive evidence is catching them venting / on camera / in the act.

  9. I'd keep an eye on him and if it gets to a point where it's extremely obvious they'll turn against us, then I'd take action. In some aspects it reminds me of Childe's story quest, as someone with younger siblings myself I'd want to protect the innocence of Joel for as long as possible, and if that means letting the imposter play house for a while, so be it as long as the kid is safe. You can't even expect a kid to completely understand; an impostor plant monster has taken shape of your dad and it's unclear if it wants to destroy the world or wants to be human

  10. If I had the choice as the traveler, I would not tell Joel but I would tell Jean or someone that could monitor the father (Rosaria, Kaeya and Diluc could also be quite good at this). The poor kid should not have to deal with all those sus things.
Breaking Albedo's trust about the full story of his nature is not even needed because Eula and Amber where witness to the whole Whopperflower impostor thing. Joel's father apparition timing and sudden lost of memory should be suspicious enough to warrant a little monitoring after all those strange phenomenon.

  11. If enough of these imposters were to statigically replace people surely others will start to notice and realize something odd is happening. This could lead to chaos if, for example, the Knights of Favonius, Or us the Traveler, were to investigate these strange occurrences and find that these imposters are Dragonspine-Durin-Blood-Mutated-Whopper-Flowers. The bottom line is that the imposters are monsters.

Now, I can play devil's advocate and say that yes they can adapt pretty well and learn – therefore learn morals, the ways of operating and blending in with society like normal people so what's the harm if no one gets hurt and little Joel can have his father back?

HOWEVER, these imposters are ticking time-bombs and as soon as someone suspects them enough they'll attack (or sneakily remove individual(s)) to defend their position as a perfect replacement. Imagine if there were many of them in Mondstadt and they all go berserk mutant Whopper Flower mode if they are suspected/investigated.

If enough of these imposters replace a huge population of Wind Nation and are exposed ie removed we could look at a societal collapse of Mondstadt because these people would be replacing the very backbone on which Mondstadt operates – Merchant groups, Military, Diplomats, Leaders.

I mean, is this how Khaenri'ah went? – Obviously not, but think about it.

So I vote: Expose. Joel will thank you later.

(Just an after thought: What if Joserf gets back to darling dearest and she says at some point, "Let's have another kid" Can these things procreate? How does this imposter thing even work!?)

  12. Just inform Albedo and have Rosaria keep tabs on Joel's dad. If she sees anything sus, we move in. The other concern I've got is if Joel's mom is alive and she gets her husband back, any attempt at procreation becomes all sorts of WTF Rule 34 nonsense. Really hoping that Josef is human and just has Bennet levels of luck. Also, can they draw blood and test it for Whopperflower/Energy Nectar? Wait they don't have blood testing yet. Dang it!

  13. I still think albedo is not the real one, that "prank" is way too suspicious, and can albedo make the mark disappear at will ? why didn't he do that and make it more difficult from the start to tell which is which, to make traveler think who the real one is beyond that mark? there's just too many loose ends on that prank to make me think it's albedo trying to joke.
but Joel's dad is definitely not the real one, the minute I saw him I felt something was off, bc it was implied earlier he kinda died, and even if he didn't, we had a full mountain to explore, we could've found him in an icicle or sth at least.
the traveler didn't seem very bothered by this so it was left as it was. who knows why he left it that way . there's no big moral decision to make because it's a simple moral decision to make. it makes sense to eliminate the impostor before it eliminates the kid or even worse, multiplies itself and replaces the entire Monstadt. one sad/angry kid will move on and understand one day. though by the time traveler comes back from another journey , assuming we're going to another region next, the fake may have already eliminated Joel and start multiply and replace anyway, and we'd still have to deal with it. so it seems reasonable to just get rid of the ice plant, if that's what indeed is impersonating his father. but if by any 0.0001 chance that is actually the real dad, I wanna ask how ._.

  14. Honestly I don't think it's right for the guy, if of course he's an impostor, to be the kid's dad. The kid most likely have a mom or someone to look after him. It's not just the kid we have to worry about but the total effect of everyone that may see him. Parents, uncles, aunts, lovers etc. The dmg that may come will be a total mess.

It's best for the impostor to just learn about the world on they're own. Who even said the impostor even want to be a parent in the first place? They may want to see more of the world than just care for a kid they may not love. It's not fair to just force that responsiblity on him. Even though the kid may be confuse and upset it's best he knows the possible truth of this matter. I haven't played that part of albedo quest yet since I'm trying to savor it the beat I can. So if the impostor does show care for the kid then forgive me for being wrong
