  1. Well genshin is an easy target because it has characters like paimon and it does look like a game for children. Combine that with their content creators behaving like children and some even stooping so low to falsely advertise the game(see SSSniperwolf genshin video). I agree that it's the parents fault too but at the same time genshin does market itself to babies. It is what it is I guess lol

edit: they gotta go after the other scum companies too though like 2K, EA and ubisoft to be fair.

  2. I do agree that there are always bad parentings out there. No matter how much they try to prevent such cases, implementing new security measure etc, there's always loopholes or parents don't even care, giving their phone with credentials to kids etc. Genshin or any other gachas typically already ask for credit credentials before any purchases and the fact that this bypass the parents consent is mind boggling. In my country, whenever I make any bank transactions, it will always ask for approval on my phone before allowing it to go through and will always notify me its receipt both on mobile and email after successful transactions. But then again, even with this if the parents don't care, it will still be useless regardless.

  3. I think to fully abide such laws they must actually require the full terms to be shoved in the face of the user. Similar to adobe case, where they hide stuff behind tooltips, but actually worse, and got into trouble with FTC.

  4. I hope they get sued again and lose and have to pay more millions of dollars back. There's only 3 character models on this game and the gatcha is most predatory ever and filled with censorship. It's basically a fraud and rip off and ppl dont see it. This game is purely advertised by the fan service that prolly mihoyo is paying too xD.

  5. Every gotcha including endfield has issues.

    โ€œEndfield is still BETAโ€

โ€‹โ€‹โ If you let every game hide behind that BETA tag and never say anything. Donโ€™t be surprised when itโ€™s released and not fixed. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Dude. Stop blaming the parents. Lets assume you have good parents. But they have no idea what gacha is. The kid asks for permission to download the game. The parent looks at the details on google play store as example. Nothing says anything about gacha or the cost or chances except for small print that says "in app purchases". Thats it. So the parent says ok. Next minute the kid is addicted and has either used their parents card/credit card or depending on their age even committed a crime to fund their addiction. In my opinion, all loot boxes are gambling and should be treated as casino or lotto and prohibited to adult only ratings. But these childlike games cause addiction before entering the job market where it will destroy their life due to habbits learned as a preteen or teen.

  7. Since this is happening only for the US and not genshin players from any other country, I actually think itโ€™s more of a US vs china kind of thing going on here.

Just like how the huawei ban incident started in the first place. Itโ€™s to suppress china and their growth. US is just afraid that china will overtake them as the no 1 super power in the world and hence find ways to try and stop them from earning money at least from within their own country. Any reason they use is just needs to make sense and doesnโ€™t necessarily need to be true.

  8. Anyone explain what loot boxes or specifically what in genshin? Multi-tier game currency is like all gacha games? The logic is >>>>>> If a kid have access to credit card services previously, It probably continue spending. The fine is missing the point. Like within the example given, fortnite revenue grew 30% after the fine. It's not like it will stop the kids spending.

  9. Maybe America and western didn't have any other mobile game than Genshin lol. In my country, Vietnam, kids now are playing FreeFire. Yes all of them in that game and that game was a saviour for us teen, mature gamer from toxicity of kid. Plus, not all teen and mature in my country playing genshin it could make you got called kid, weeb, wibu.

  10. Also there actually are big odds at getting the characters you want.
There is a 100% chance that you will get a banner character even as a F2P player just with the free currency you earn through gameplay.

    As a F2P player I have C6 Nahida, C2 Sigewinne, C1 Zhongli and C1 Klee.

  11. This will affect all gacha game. Im fine with only 16+ can actually play this game, then maybe gacha game starts making story on the "serious" side like ZZZ with Harumasa story.

I think the reason they dont fight it is because they probably see the chart and see its mostly adults that pay them money more than kids. This is USA only so they can still make money from children from other countries and also is it really worth fighting for a country that arent your biggest revenue generator

  13. Any game with gacha mechanics should be rated 18+ imo. Whether its lootboxes, characters, skins or whatever else. And any game with micro transactions should have a version where you can disable them.

  14. They just hate Hoyo because WOKE shit, hence they search other way to Sue Hoyo. Well is okay, when they become 17+ game we can expect more boundaries broken LOL. Most of the whale isn't a kid anyway.
