  1. People tend to care more about the color of pixels than worry about racism and colorism irl. Many get racially abused and stereotyped on a daily basis irl and most of these people complaining about the pixels would probably remain silent or even engage in this. Culture isn't about skin-tones or making edits showing a character in darker tones, its also about the cuisine, the architecture, the language, the history, the sports, the scenery and the politics to name a few. If those are also misrepresented, then its a huge problem.

  2. The 'its fictional' defense is so funny and stupid. oh I guess GTA doesn't take place in the USA now, because its Vice City, Liberty City, San Andreas, totally fictional places haha nothing to do with the real world at all.

  3. Why all these people think that they are the centre of the community ! It's a Chinese game ; Chinese company. The mejority of the audience and those whales comes from Asian countries.

  4. As an Afro American i dont give a crap what colors or themes they are inspired by. I just dont want the community to attrack me for cosplaying my favorites characters just because my skin isn't the same shade as theirs. I enjoy hoyoverse games just as much as the community does.

  6. im canadian chinese…pretty sure i got some relatives in china that are farmers that probably got darker skin from the hot sun. not sure about Xinyan's lore if she is a native of liyue. i literally don't care about characters im not interested in but people really try to color her darker and try to make her into an african? i honestly find it funny. because darker skin chinese do exist.
white wash? they meant yellow washed? i thought we were considered yellow not white.

  7. Tell me if I'm dumb, but why are you asking the nation based on Mexico to be black skin characters? Mualani, Iansan, leopard mommy, tainted color is exactly what represents Mexico, are you all right? Also, this is fiction, suck my belly ๐Ÿ˜you are not Natlanians, you are from the real world brothers, chill the f out

  8. THAT IS THE FACKING POINT U WOKE PPL!!! The creator can do whatever they like…then its UP TO THE players to like or not the COSMETICS AND SKINS …not based everything on REALITY and GENEAOLOGY!!! We play games based on how the game story takes on inspiration taken from the real world and made it a FANTASY FICTION….GET IT?? For example in some games they mix other cultural lores like Norse and Greek mythology related to CREATE a NEW FICTIONAL ONE that can exist in our DREAMS or PARALLEL UNIVERSES…get it?? Are you saying that those games that mix both Norse and Greek mythology have to choose ONE or EITHER and NOT BOTH??? Go have ur minds examine…geez, might as well I can accuse u woke ppl of COLORISM.

  9. Its actually a pretty common complaint in the genshin community, not r because the game is supposed to accurately reflect real races… but colorism suspicion is based on the fact that there ARE a few darker characters but seem to pretty consistently poor performers.

Dehya, Xinyan, Candace, Kaya, these are mid at best, half are literally the worst in their scalings in their role.

But its possible the new hydro DPS in 5.0 will be a competitive performer and she's darker. So that might break the trend.

But the appropriation complaints are just… unfounded and absurd.

  11. I dont think you realise genshin is erasing culture when you search up Al-haitham and Kinich (who are dark skinned) Instead of getting them you get the same old pasty white anime boy

  14. For every "boycott" over representation, a whale gets a new wallet to spend on the gacha, not even caring if the characters are white or black.

Plus, they'll just go back to playing Genshin once the boycott blows over because it's no longer trendy.

It happened with Cookie Run, it happened with Genshin when Sumeru came out, it'll happen again here.
