With the release of 5.0, we’ve got the brand new region of Natlan to explore, and a whole lot of lore to go along with it. And with new lore comes new terminology and mysteries, so I thought now would be a great time to go over all these newfangled terms and mechanics. Of course, this stuff is still pretty new so there are a lot of gaps in our current knowledge that I have to fill in with a healthy dose of speculation. Hope you’re ready for it!

  1. I have a question about the statues of the seven: why did it not change after mavuika 500 years ago? Why doesn‘t it show Xbalanque? Did Celestia or idk someone else build the statues during, after or because of the cataclysm? What does that mean for the other statues? Did i miss something?

  2. 23:04 i guess im not wrong, but the six tribe users in the present that she needs to archieve that plain received the original heros ancient names from the past that helped her, like tupac with mualani, she need their memories and story to archieve her gols, but she didnt want to bring those exactly heroes with her, right?

4 of then already unlocked those memories: Kinich, Iansã, Xilonen and Mualani

  3. Teyvat is essentially a holographic universe. It is a world built on information rather than energy or physical matter. Irmansol is the hard drive and the Night Kingdom is the RAM. The Abyss and Forbidden Knowledge operate like computer viruses.

  4. 15:47 YES!!! I’ve been saying this that there’s no Pyro tribe cuz it’s already represented by the Pyro Archon!!! But then again, some people want to stick with their personal head canons that a 7th tribe existed and it’s the Children of Murata.

  5. Around 27-28 minutes in, you talk about abyss and elemental energy being opposites, and start drawing an analogy to arkhe, but if they worked like that, how come do we have abyss lectors and such? Or corrupted saurians?

  6. Wait, it wasn't obvious that Each of the Tribes ONLY has Members that represent ONE Specific Element? As far as I can tell, Each Tribe will ONLY have Characters from ONE Element that the Tribe Represents, and no, there won't be any Pyro Tribe, because Pyro represents The nation as a whole. We already know that the "People of the Springs" including Mualani are Hydro, The Children of Echos including Kachina and Xilonen are Geo, Scions of the Canopy including Kinich are Dendro. But then there's Iansan from the Collective of plenty who are Electro, Chasca is from the Flower-Feather Clan who are Anemo , and Citlali is from the Masters of the Night Wind who are Cryo… At this point I'm 95% Certain that we will KNOW which tribe a character is from just by looking at the Element of their Vision. And those Elements will reflect their specific Saurians, Also the Characters from those Nations will have Mobility Abilities that reflect their Saurians: People of the Springs will ALWAYS get stuff to travel over water and lava, Children of the Echos will always get something to Climb Walls, Scions of the Canopy will always get some Kind of Grappling Hook effect… No Idea how the other 3 will move around so far, but flight feels likely for the Anemo Tribe.

It should also be noted throughout the exploration of the Lore of Natlan that it's not JUST Mayan and Aztec lore that we have to take as the core source, Each tribe Represents different Nations in the Real World. The Children of the Echos seem to reflect the Pueblo Native Americans from the South West of the United states (Look up their Cliff Dwellings, you'll see it right away), The People of the Springs are Polynesian or more specifically Hawaiian (The dude that gives you Reputation Quests during the day is Called "Kahuna" that's all the proof I need) , the Scions of the Canopy are Inca (The focus of their culture on Ropes and how they Live at the top of a Mountain in reference to Machu Pichu should be Proof enough of that). We don't really know what the other 3 represent yet, But I'm Fairly Certain that the Flower-Feather Clan will be For Native American Nations from Further North, given Chasca's whole Cowgirl look (Her sister also sports a Northern American Modernized Traditional Look)… The Naming Convention for ANCIENT Natlans being Mayan names should be taken to be similar to Names of people in dead Civilizations in other nations, like Enkonomiya is Filled with people with Greek Names, and the Sea of Bygone Eras is filled with Romans, and khaenri'ah is all Norse names. The Main Difference being that Natlan still remembers them and didn't bury those people's History beneath their modern civilization the way the other nations did (Probably due to their ancestor Worship though the Wayob and "Ancient Names")

Can't wait to see the Deeper dives into each of them!

  7. how incredibly boring
you do a great job at making hoyo's already horrible and boring narrative even more boring. congrats. take the dislike.

  8. I think you missed a little detail when the traveler and the others are interacting with the Wayob, if you look at the particle effects you can tell the vision bearers are projecting elemental energy into the Wayob, but the traveler is pulling Abyssal energy into himself. So if the Traveler is creating an annihilation reaction, it might be worth noting that is doing it by manipulating abyssal energy into his body.

  9. if you did kinich story quest . it was that ancient heroes name that first rose during era of first pryo archon. it might contain remnants of xblalanque's power

basically, the six heroes has first ancient name of each of their tribe .

what happen if you collect the six of them ?

  10. I think it's a pretty generic concept that all the elements (or colors) come together to form the light element (white)t to challenge the power of darkness. That said, where Hoyo really deserves credit is how they carefully thread the needle of various cultures and theologies into a cohesive tale for everyone. A literal fairy tale that reflects reality, and perhaps, a reality than can be changed due to a literal fairy tale…

  11. Ashikai, fyi, I do not have autoplay on. I got to the end of this video because I like how you explain the cultural contexts in ways that I couldn't wrap my head around without your research. Thank you for your service to the fandom.

  12. I couldn't help but noticed the pipe in ZZZ that emited ether looks the same with the towers around the Natlan stadium that emit Sacred Flame. Seems like Ether in ZZZ is just another name for Abyssal power in the ZZZ world.

  13. 26:45 is Mavuika really intended as the 7th ancient name? Because considering we'll craft ourselves one that'll be 8 total. And presumably the Traveler should get pyro powers at some point in the archon quest, so it'd make sense if they were supposed to fill in the pyro slot. We also don't know how strong Mavuika is now, after sacrificing her power.

  14. Question. I saw a theory a while back that the reason the Abyss Twin isn't a descender is because somehow they had a branch of themselves spliced IN to Irmunsoul the same way Rukka and Wanderer spliced themselves OUT, and that may have messed with the twin's memories. Do you think that could be done to the Traveler if Mavuika makes us an ancient name, thereby tieing us (and our memories, since that's the whole point of an ancient name) into the leylines and therefore Irmunsoul?
