The cool part is minsleif only tackle the main plot of the story(archon quest) and didnt mention how deep lore is and how great genshin world building that you only experience if you do some world quest and read some books and item descriptions.. not to mention the great event story aswell.

"That didn't sound English!" Because it's not. XD Each nation is based on a different real world culture. Mondstadt = Germany, Liyue = China, Inazuma = Japan, Sumeru = Persian Empire, Fontaine = France, Natlan = I think Spain, Schneznya = Russia (there's also the ancient unified nation of Teyvat that is based on Ancient Greece)
Also the history of this game goes back way more than 500 years. 500 years ago just had a lot happen. Heck, Liyue as a nation is 3,700 years old. There's a lot of history before each nation was formed and then there's SUPER ancient history from before EVERYTHING we know that is literally a sin to know anything about.

Lmao, it's easy to forget that Gnoses are even important because the Archons lose them extremely easily. We only get hints that they're even important at all during Zhongli's dialogue when he mentions that he can no longer produce Mora while Azhdaha confirms the former is no longer the Geo Archon.
They have literal godlike power but were ostensibly traded away for 1) Venti just being a huge flake 2) Zhongli gaining something we don't know 3) Miko being a huge flake and trading it for Traveller's life for some reason 4) INFO ON RUMORS. WHY. 5) LITERALLY GIFTED AWAY.
These Fatui guys have needed to exert less and less effort to get their hands on them.

I once tried to connect every bit of Genshin lore back to the greater Hoyoverse universe and I still get nightmares from it. I am not even joking when I say that trying to understand miHoYo game lore is like trying to understand he Fate franchise.

i think nux didn't quite got what was happening in sumeru. The main conflict wasn't this natural phenomenon aka withering, but the sages who took control over sumeru and imprisoned their god aka nahida. While also stealing peoples dreams to harvest their energy thus then for their final plan, to create a new god to worship. And thats where the fatui comes in, they funded this plan and also made their own harbinger the one to become a god, aka scaramouche. That's what's happening, not stopping the withering, like it was a secondary objective. And the fatui aren't the ones responsible for the withering, its not like they rub their hands together and boom withering.
and on the topic of nahida and how history is written by the victor. This statement isn't wrong, but the whole conflict as to who to worship. As nahida and rukkedevata basically have the same birth. Like rukkedevata was a branch of iminsul and created nahida from that branch too. They share similar appearances and also are eachothers clone. The only difference is that nahida shares another fate from rukkedevata. So basically it was stupid of the sages to think nahida isn't the rightful heir to their god and thus the conflict. When nahida told rukkedevata of her view of wisdom rukkedevata thought of it as smart and agreed, so basically their ideology are at least similar in their nature. So again, the problem of the sages thinking the old ideology was better are completely delusional. Since rukkedevata didn't created the akasha to have the humans stop thinking, since she posseses the ultimative knowledge, but a way to accumulate knowledge to solve a very big and difficult problem. And how its used pre archon quest is just the wrong way.

They didnt delete rukkhadevata to control the population, they did it bc she was infested by forbidden knowledge, which ended up corrupting the ley lines
Funny thing about Hoyo games is that they showcase the games as Waifu simulators, but then they have actually focus on the world, exploration, characters and stories. Honkai Impact is probably the best example of this. It has less censorship than Genshin and ultimately has the best story among any of Hoyoverse games, in a depressing kinda way…..
Most lore relevant to the main story quest takes place within 500 years but we know several lore that date back 2000+ years ago to the archon war. Most of this older lore is centered around the archons or other immortal beings close to the archon but it can be really interesting learning about the different gods and how their involvement shaped teyvat today. Whats also interesting is lore surrounding celestia such as the nail at the top of dragon spine or how the chasm was created.
The fact that Nuxanor does this for OUR entertainment is just gold. We all love you Nuxanor! 👍 😜

The remains of Durin in Dragonspine, The Divine Nails that Celestia used to contain Forbidden Knowledge and ended up devastating the enviroment, Enkanomiya, which is the Genshin version of Atlantis and also contains some information about the world structure, or the ancient history of Sumeru's Desert which you uncover by exploring ancient temples.
Genshin Impact is a really deep game as far as lore goes, and unironically worth a play. You are going to love it.

Issues of the nations, explained as simple as I can:
Mondstadt: Dragon gets curable rabies, and becomes chill and calm after being cured
Liyue: Their god faked his death, then gave Liyue a test. Adepti are either not needed or the nation drowns in the god's most persistent nemesis' waters.
Inazuma: God got PTSD from all her sister's friends getting killed off or being corrupted in some way, closes off the nation from the rest of the world and lives in the puppet in her own image like a NEET, made to touch grass by the MC
Sumeru: INFINITE TSUKUYOMI scheme, fueled to make a god off the puppet prototype from Inazuma…
Fontaine: A whole 500 year long opera act for a human-oceanid to act like their god while their god gathers enough power to end herself along with her Hydro Archon throne… Because the sin that Celestia imposed on them was the claiming of the powers within the gnosis.
I recommend playing or watching playthroughs of the game to find out the rest, cuz what Minsleif did was an incredibly shortened version with all the intricate details all scattered in world quests, side quests, and just omitted because the video would take several days long to explain everything otherwise.
Even my simplification isn't as simplified as I'd like tbh.

This covers a lot of lore, lores that are never mentioned in any of the main story quests. and there is a lot outside the video as well, as this doesn't talk about Fatui, Abyss order, Hexinzirkle or anything like that. the amount of lore will blow your mind probably.
