As per usual, the banners are not out yet and we won’t know anything for sure until the 4.8 beta is released, and even then the banners will be subject to change, as this is early leaks, so take it with a grain of salt. Current leaks suggest that Emilie is confirmed to be released in 4.8 as a playable character, and she is said to be a 5 star dendro polearm user. With Emilie being set to release in 4.8 we can look at the possibility of 4.8 not being a full rerun patch.

If we look back, characters up until version 4.2 have had their reruns except for Wriothesley, so it would be safe to assume that he will get his rerun in 4.8 before the release of Natlan. Another character we should expect to get their rerun banner is Navia, as she was released in 4.3 and HoYo’s rule is to rerun all early characters. Now, that is 3 of the slots covered, looking at the last spot we will most likely be seeing Shenhe, as she is one of the characters with the highest non-rerun count and has only had one rerun banner since her release. So it is a very good chance that we will finally get her rerun in 4.8.

My guess would be that Emilie will have her banner in phase 1 along side Navia, and in phase 2 it could be Wriothesley and Shenhe. This is just my theory, but lets take a look at the data on characters that haven’t yet had their rerun during Fontaine. I won’t include the character we already talked about, so apart from the already mentioned candidates for the 4.8 banners, these are some of the characters that are due for their rerun banners. First we have Kokomi, who hasn’t had her rerun since version 3.8. We also have Nilou and Ganyu that are very much due for their rerun banners, as they haven’t had their banners since version 3.6.

Now, I know a lot of you wonder about when the next chronicled wish banner will be, so let’s take a look. The first chronicled wish banner got introduced in version 4.5 and had a Mondstadt theme, so I think its safe to assume that the next chronicled wish will be a Liyue version. Assuming that we will get to see the next chronicled wish in version 4.8, we are looking at Yelan, Ganyu, Hu tao and Xiao as the limited characters. Baizhu is eligible, but had his rerun in version 4.6 so he won’t appear. If we look at the Inazuma version, we are looking at Yoimiya, Kokomi, Ayaka, Yae Miko, Ayato, Itto and Kazuha as possible characters. Itto and Kazuha had their reruns in 4.5, but there is still a chance they could appear on the chronicled wish.

It isn’t confirmed that the chronicled wish is a region-specific banner, so potentially they could add characters from all nations if they really want to. We should be getting more info about the banners in a week or so, when the 4.8 beta releases.
