  1. According to the mihoyo wiki page on that guy:

Among Chinese players, he is known by the nickname "Cai Meow" (蔡喵) because of his speech at GameLook Game Open Day in 2014, where he referred to comments made by players in response to criticisms about Houkai Gakuen 2 on Baidu Tieba forums. He also got associated with the six-character catchphrase, 爱玩玩,不玩滚 Ài wán wán, bù wán gǔn, lit. "If you want to play it, play; if you don't want to play it, scram."

  2. I mean calling it "USB" instead of flash drive will confuse a lot of people. I work in a computer retail and if someone is looking for an "USB" I just immediately tell them "You mean flashdrive?" but not all sales rep are like that though.

  3. This is verifiably false information, Cai hasn't been involved in managing the game for at least a few months now. He also stepped down from the executive chairman position late last year. The rumors actually say he isn't based in China anymore and is actually doing RnD in the Canadian branch.

  4. I think teccy must've confused usb with flash drives, or that target employees are a stickler for names. Some people call them usb even though its flash drives and the employees would know this and I think they are just avoiding extra work tbh

  5. back when genshin Cai Haoyu was honkai impact producer, in CN server there is no seperate weapon banner so gamble character or weapon in same banner , meaning that they're so greedy even back then until change in producer then honkai impact is generous, it's shame genshin is now under him haha

  6. There is Genshin's problems as a game and Genshin's problems as a community and hooboy the community deserves what it gets.

Agreed with Teccy on the stance about people keeping their jobs. The free market is a system of trading. One person wants money and offer a product or service, another person wants said product or service and is willing to exchange currency for it. Each has responsibilities so the system can work properly. When someone doesn't do their job the system doesn't work and everyone loses.

  7. They could just give people THE OLD 5 stars no one uses anymore. Like if they gave out lets say a free Mona for the anniversary. and if you have a c6 Mona already you get like 10k primos instead. No one would say that this is a bs reward. Will genshin do this or anything like it? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH no.

  8. Re: 'wanting to play the game if we get a good character'

I started over on a different region to test something before giving advice to a new player (how to walk to Sumeru, because dendro traveler is actually good, and worth getting early). You need to do a bit of Mondstadt questing to unlock the path to Liyue etc. so I played a bit. And then, literally, wish #1, I got Raiden.

The test 'account', my 3rd, is now AR32. Playing Raiden with all the starter characters through low ARs is a blast (literally). Just got to Inazuma, and I'm still running Amber, anemo traveler (dendro is for hard stuff, not overworld trash), Raiden, Barbara (full EM and my on-field driver).

  9. While a lot of problems may stem from him, it's also important to not entirely dismiss that a lot of the stuff we love about Genshin that made it such a popular game may also be because of him.

  10. Listen y'all, MiHoyo was started by three University students, one of them Da Wei and the guy we are talking about is one of the other two. Currently he is the president of Hoyoverse. Source: The Wikipedia page for Mihoyo. I think this is important info since this changes what we'll be protesting for, "replacing" him… I don't think that's possible given his status. We have to come up with something else

  11. My order for the games are HSR, HI3 then Genshin. I'm kind of over this open world era of gaming. Even though I'm very tired of the endless reading in HI3rd. Don't think they're looking at it from an american point of view. Throw some kind of dub in there.

  12. btw if u guys search up "Who is the founder of hoyoverse", the first result, which is from Crunchbase, will say that the founder is Cai Haoyu and there will be an image of Dawei aka. Liu Wei. I think they put up the wrong image facepalm

  13. Quick Google search says that this guy is the co founder of Mihoyo and, apparently, current CEO of Mihoyo group of which Hoyoverse is a subsidiary. He has been called "the largest shareholder". Which means, this guy ain't going anywhere.

  14. I'm tired.
If you ask me, both the community (Mainly the toxic side of it) and the man at the top of the Genshin's development are at fault here. I play the game, I like exploring everything, But I'm sure as hell not a part of community. But this toxic hive mind, who wants to do nothing for the big rewards; and the man, who thinks being scummy is the way to go; are both undermining the game. I'd say it's better for that top man to face the toxic side of community personally. I'd like to see what would happen then. It's not like he's going to get fired anytime soon, but making things more difficult for him is a lot easier.

  15. Hoyo is still to blame the incompetent directors of Genshin is their responsibility. They should terminate all that are directly involved in this mess no pity. I stopped spending in that forsaken game for some time now. I ain't spending a dime again until Hoyo complied to all our demands. For me it should be the following.
    1. Increase resin cap by 10 times
    2. Increase all rewards by 10 times
    3. Shorten all reset counters by 10 times
    4. Make limited & past events re-playable
    5. Make unlimited map markers
    6. Make proper artifacts load outs
    7. Make all players to choose substats upgrade & make it every 2 levels instead of 4
    8. Add the frikin SKIP BUTTON!
    9. Do not re-use animation!
    10. Fix Qiqi, Dehay, Alloy, Klee & Keqing's kits and so other useless units
    11. Allow players to toggle consolations on/off
    12. Provide meaningful and satisfying end game contents.

In addition to as an act of apology and compensation for the their shitty treatment (since day one) to the players that made them MULTIBILLIONARES in the 1st place, Hoyo must give 8 5 Star C6 units with their best R5 weapons all for FREE. I ain't even joking. WE MADE THEM MULTIBILLINARES AND WE DESERVE IT!!!!

  16. This video was not good. It really didn't go into detail at all about Cai. He could have deep-dived into how much Cai owns, confirming or deconfirming where Cai was at what point, and why he was moved from HI3 in the first place. In a corporation as large as HYV you don't have to fire someone to move them out of their position. Why did Cai move to Genhin? Can we get him to move to ZZZ? Can Mihoyo just move him somewhere that doesn't control rewards? What can players pressure the company to do? We don't know, because the video gives so little info.

  17. I don't think Cai was removed from HI3, more like he left because he wanted to work on Genshin. He's arguably the most powerful person at Hoyoverse, meaning there's little to no chance that anyone will convince him to step down or change. Add to it that, from what I read, he's one of the greedy, ruthless types of business people, more passionate about money than the project itself. He's basically the Bobby Kotick of Hoyoverse.

  19. Liked the video but uhh the target story kinda feels like you were acting like an entitled brain dead person b/c some ppl don't know what usbs are specifically b/c we still have ppl today that use iphones and say apple charger and with the new 15 pro say the "new apple charger" not type c they don't get payed enough to know all this either

  20. There is a reason why honkai impact first 3 years never lift off to actual mainstream gamers, also the only reason why genshin can tank off same treatment its due to covids many people don't have much to do on quarantined and genshin come in clutch to fill those boredom on covid days that time alot of people doesn't even know what gatcha even is

  21. I agree to a certain extent that people should lose their jobs when not doing their jobs. Misconduct like the Maccies example, sure, sackable offense but that's not just a case of not doing their job lol

Jokes aside, with the Target example, the first lady may just not know what a USB is, given your description, or you didn't give enough of a description for what a USB is/ corrected her, when she was looking at the wrong thing on her phone, only telling her it's a storage device afterwards. Lots of things could be a storage device. The thing is, she actually did also look up the inventory on her phone, when you asked her to. I find it difficult to believe she wasn't doing her job as she could have also said no to doing that for you and saved a lot more time. The second guy may not have known where they were, due to no training, or lack thereof. He said he'd "just looked", which sure, could be brushing you off but it could also be taken at face value. Or maybe, the first and second people could have been dealing with understaffing issues and don't really have the energy to go that extra mile to find or figure out what a USB is, whether they knew what/ where it is or not, because they're so heavily depressed in their job and they have little recourse to find another job/ their manager is like Hoyoverse to their customers with Genshin, showing zero respect.

Neither of us know, really. For all I know, they're overstaffed and have perfect training and my assumptions are wrong. Maybe they're waiting for the CN community to kick up a fuss, because EN doesn't matter? There's lots of instances with the USB example that could have been misinterpreted, just like I might be misinterpreting your re-telling of the story and I don't think the example alone of the USBs is enough to constitude losing a job, as there's nowhere near enough information about the employees and their overall work ethic. Everyone can have down days too. Saying all that, If you really do think they should be fired for not assisting you better in finding a USB stick, why didn't you ask to speak to their manager? Or did you think the manager would not have taken you seriously? I don't believe it's because you didn't have time, with how you described this encounter, as you were very eager to prove both employees wrong about USB sticks being in-stock at their store. :L /endrant from a past service industry worker.

Either way, I do actually still understand the point you were trying to make with your example, in response to the guy's take in the original video. I just think the USB example is a pretty poor one.

  22. Outrageously wrong, without any source, Cai Haoyu's main job is to develop new games. Games such as 'Fly Me 2 the Moon,' 'Honkai' from the first to the third generation, and 'Genshin Impact' are likely to have been produced by Cai Haoyu. He is an exceptionally talented game developer.

  23. Never thought the day would come where i'd agree with a Tectone video, but given the fact that I had my suspicions that it was because of Haoyu that Genshin was a huge mess… it's surprising that we're on the same wavelength on this topic
