[4.3] Nicole and the Secrets of the Hexenzirkel – Genshin Impact Theory

Alice, Alice, Alice! That’s all anyone talks about when it comes to the Hexenzirkel, but she’s not the only suspicious disembodied voice sending us cryptic messages from some unknown location! So with her latest appearance in the finale of Fontaine’s archon quest, I thought now would be a good time to revisit an old theory about her and see if we can’t expand upon it.

  1. *NOTES & CORRECTIONS*

    – A brand new YT theorist made a video on Kaeya which has some nice overlap with this theory! I only found it after the video was finished, otherwise I would have given it a proper shoutout, because they made some really awesome connections!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajNxiVgD13s

    – The person who mentioned the owl-domain tablet thing first was apparently a friend of mine, Kitkat! They saw the video and went "WAIT THAT WAS ME!" Haha~

  2. @26:00 you mention the hexenzirkel might be 500 years old, and nothing says they cant. When did they challenge the animo archon? did we ever get a date on that? I assumed it was pre-web manga, and also assumed it was pre-cataclysm/

  3. 13:40 – I wanna say that Diluc being the uncrowned king of Mondstadt might be due to his control over the wine industry, one of Mondstat's biggest industries and exports. Similar to how (iirc) Bruce Wayne has been called the Prince of Gotham because of how much influence Wayne Industries has.

Also just for more reasons to tie Diluc to Batman. Also casual reminder that an alternate universe version of Batman exists called Owlman.

  4. I think youre overthinking this massively, no way the (chinese) writers have that level of knowledge about all kids of mythology and are able to form such a cohesive narrative as you imagine, they have to run the whole story past ccp, thats probably their main concern. Nevertheless, a very entertaining video and im impressed by your knowledge

  5. My assumption was that Nicole can use her teaset to be present in the same way that Alice can use lamps. And that they also might connect to wherever she exists the same way a Domain teapot can be a place.

  6. I remember seeing a post on HoYoLAB saying that there’s a theory that Nicole is actually Diluc’s mom. Or we’ll at least his mom was a witch. So Nicole watching over Diluc and helping him out actually makes sense if you believe that she’s our favorite redhead’s mother.

  7. hey ashikai! i think i might actually have an idea for who could be leading the hexenzirkle

the recent name card from 4.0 named “Achievement: Orbits” gives some insight to the twins being tracked upon their arrival in teyvat. “O Almighty Soverign, the Universitas Magistrorum has provided the predictions you requested: The two stars have been captured by the world’s gravity”

Jakob also mentions this group, which means that it probably existed before and after the cataclysm. The “community of masters” sounds a lot like the hexenzirkle which is comprised of witches who are usually referred to as masters, but if this means they’re led by a sovereign it would seemingly line up with their motivations. in fact, you pointed out that the traveler, upon making contact with the ley lines, immediately knew that nibelung was back. wouldn’t it make sense that he’s been alive, attempting to track down the twins in an attempt to regain his authority? is it a coincidence that we run into klee, albedo, mona, alice, and nicole, all either witches themselves or an indirect connection to the hexenzirkle’s sphere of influence? it makes so much more sense if it was done with purpose in my opinion

is this almighty soverign nibelung? i think it sounds insane for him to be the leader of the hexenzirkle, but they honestly all seem strong enough and know more than nearly every other being in teyvat. i’d like to hear other theories though 🙂

  8. Diluc also says about Mona "I see no need for the' harvest forecasts' of astrologers."
and while looking for this quote, there was an archived reddit thread pointing out how…*weird* it is that he has a line for Mona when they never seem to have interacted.

  9. Kaeya with Bethlehem stars… was sent away on a mission by his “true” father… dropped off at a random building… raised by an adoptive parent… is a prince with a super special fate…. the last hope… Is Kaeya supposed to be Jesus???😭
