  1. I think that Ayato's flexibility in team building and flexibility in general in genshin is underrated. Ideally, you would always use the same 2 strongest teams you have in every abyss, but it doesn't always line up that way. For example, in the top half of floor twelve in the current abyss, the first two rooms have enemies that counter shields, and the Aeonblight Drake almost requires a bow character. When you are making your abyss teams, it's not only a matter of what are the two best teams I can make, its: what are the two best teams that I can make that work within certain restrictions and do not contain overlaping characters. If you don't have a large pool of five stars, then it is really valuable for the ones you do have to be able to work in many different teams

  2. I use Ayato with Ayaka, Jean and Kazuha. I use Ayaka's elemental skill, switch to Ayato and use his elemental skill which freezes enemies then switch to Ayaka and use her burst and when the enemies are frozen I use Kazuha to group enemies and do Ayato's elemental skill so they get frozen again. After Ayaka's burst I use Ayato's elemental burst do Kazuha's skill then bring out Ayaka to do his cryo charged attack. Rinse and repeat. Ayato is not that strong but he is a good unit even without cons.

  3. I absolutely love Ayato. His lack of energy dependence is great for casual gameplay. I never could get a good set for him from that new domain but the 4 piece gladiator set still works great. I was thinking about C6ing him this rerun because I have him at C3 right now but I can't pass up Wanderer.

  4. I disliked him when accidentally land on my account. But after some time, I got more kind to him. Ayato is my favourite character when job need to be done and first character for who I want pull on weapon banner :s. And I running him with mid glad set (and the best set what I currently have for him). Can't wait when I will be blessed with artifacts luck and get him a proper set.

  5. Returned the game again after quitting. My account is just AR12 w/ a Kazuha and Wolf's Gravestone. Now I just started playing it again. Thinking of just pulling on weapon banner and see if I get Haran or Engulfing before deciding who to pull on char banner. If I get a trash weapon, should I pull for Ayato or Raiden? Just a welkinh guy here.

  6. And yet, I will not pull for him because I'll be aiming to obtain Raiden's weapon, but I guess he could make a great use of one of the 2 Jadecutter I got while trying to obtain Kazuha's new BiS (I got 3 5* weapon to get one copy of a 4*).

  7. So many people are arguing over who the better hydro character is, like why? You shouldn’t even compare Ayato to Xingqiu, Yelan and Kokomi. The three have better supportive capabilities and good personal damage with Xingqiu’s damage resistance and a bit of healing, Yelan’s damage buff and movement option who also uses a bow which could be more relevant thanks to bosses like the aeonblight, and Kokomi’s great healing. And Ayato’s only supportive capability other than pure damage is normal attack bonus which only a select few use. Now for Childe which is the only character you should be comparing him to since they share the main dps/enabler role well… I think Ayato is the better option for newer players. Childe is definitely stronger than him in international but only in international. Ayato is the better pick than him is all the other teams and gives players more options to build different types of teams. Though Childe has a slight advantage in his bow but that’s pretty niche. As for which first hydro 5 star character you should pull for as a new player, it should be either Yelan or Ayato imo. Yelan is one of the best characters in the game due to her similarities to Xingqiu, in which I think that Xingqiu is the best hydro character in the game due to his nature of being a 4 star character which makes him very accessible while still being extremely strong. And Ayato gives new players a lot of versatility into what teams you can build while still being a strong option. Kokomi is great option too but I feel like she is a bit limited in what teams she’s in.

  8. Wait. Pause. I'm at the 1st point and it's already kind of bogus.
My ayato's normal attacks deal 4-9k each, without activating his skill or burst. How are they useless? Paired with high crit rate, and his sig artifacts, and any high atk sword, he deals lots of NA dmg

  9. i absolutely adore ayato and think hes overlooked by people bc childe exists. yes childe does more nuke damage and has less icd but ayato is easier to manage and just more flexible. his soup team (w fischl, kazuha, benny) is so easy to use its almost braindead and is my go-to team for the abyss

  10. For me he has the coolest gameplay in the game. Hearing those slashes shing*shing*shing is so satisfying for being a sword wielding character. And he help me complete the stars in floor 12 abyss for the first time in my 1 and a half year playing the game.

  11. Anything that Ayato does, someone will do it better. Hydro Application – Xingqiu, Yelan, Kokomi. Speaking of Kokomi, she heals everyone and scales off of HP like Yelan and Nilou – which both benefit from Hydro resonance unlike Ayato. Hydro DPS – Childe, Nilou. Childe has Quadratic Scaling, so he’s already far ahead of Ayato in damage. Nilou’s mechanics is pretty unique, and despite being inflexible, she’s proven to be relevant within the dendro meta thanks to her mechanics and very powerful bloom damage. Ayato’s damage is some of the worst in the game from a F2P perspective. You’ll never exceed anything higher than 9k-15k per slash, and his attack speed is rather slow (even with a C6 Yun Jin). Don’t get him if you don’t have him. Kokomi and Yelan are far better characters to get than him. I don’t really see the role of Hydro characters to take on the role of being a DPS, but rather adding utility to enable elemental reactions for DPS’ of other elements. THAT’s why Hydro is a useful element.

  12. you forget 4pc TF + Lions roar for taser build. It is another F2P~light spender option. The said build is a strong option on par with black sword. Downside is farming for TF

  13. When talking about his artifact sets @ 7:44, you forgot to include Emblem. It's great if you are using him just for his burst (off field hydro application) and/or as a placeholder while you are farming one of the other sets.

  14. what I like the most with Ayato, and the main reason I rolled for him, is how long his elemental burst duration is. an 18 sec burst with a 20 sec cooldown over a large aoe that continuously applies hydro and normal atk buff is amazing tbh. he just provides so much versatility in team building.

  15. I actually got two copies of Ayato in his debut, and he's uber fun to play and jack off all trades. I use him with burgeon Thoma with Dendro Traveller and soup comps with Ayato, Fischil Venti/Kazuha and Bennett.

Would really like a five star weapon for him. The fact I got boba milkshake before I summoned him, I'm so lucky to get two copies, as much as I would like copies but father is coming soon.
