  1. ICANT Wait till his personal story quest in 3.3 when we finally have all of his story and all of this that you so eloquently narrated meets its destined end. After that there may be more easter eggs and lines from the other harbingers but 3.3 is so soon and its going to be amazing!!!

  2. Scara's lore is so interesting to me. I mean, a sentient doll that suddenly was placed with a lifetime's worth of trauma and pain, casted away and left alone to deal with unfamiliar feelings, thinking that every connection he made to end in betrayal….only to be picked up by a powerful organization and experimented on, and because of his views, strive to become a God and sees it as a form of acknowledgement or achieve acknowledgement.

  3. His story almost feels like the story of the Tin Man who longs for a heart from the Wizard of Oz, but with an evil twist. With the direction the story is going, I know he will almost be guaranteed a character story quest as well.

  4. People take Scaramouche's words too much at face value and still shit on Ei as if she expected him to wake up while she was getting her shit together like, what was she supposed to do when he woke up and she's already perfected the Shogun? Have someone kill him?

  5. Is it just me, or does his story remind me of the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelly? Victor von Frankenstein creates a monster due to ego (different than Ei but here me out). But when he realizes he can't sympathize with his creation, he abandons it. The monster tries to integrate into human society, but humans get terrified of him and see him as an abomination. The monster tried to be good at the beginning of the book, but people didn't give him a chance. In the end, the monster blamed all of this on his creator Victor Frankenstein and plans revenge on Frankenstein by doing all kinds of atrocities

  6. I like Ashikai's theory on twitter that Scaramouche is actually the version of Mei (the one that kills millions of people by becoming a god) and that Ei is the version of Dr.Mei (the one that may or may not have caused immense suffering from her creations and goals). Holds a lot of credence if you know both Honkai and GGZ lore and truly know the character of Mei and her backstory.

So I guess this mean Scaramouche is a master cook?

  7. I really love speculating about kunikuzushi's lore mainly because of the mental processes he might have gone through to become like this. I find it really sad that the "three betrayals" he mentioned weren't even betrayals, but misinterpretations from him. I like to think that in first instance he didn't think of them as such until the death of the Ill child, cause he kept going and trying to find a meaning to his life, but sadly he didn't understand life well enough to realize that the pain he went through wasn't inflicted by the persons he loved to intentionally harm him, and it's kind of ironical in a way. I also like to interpret the fact that Ei didn't want to control him as a foreshadow of his element, because that line sounds very much like Venti's ideals over Mondstat.

  8. Scaramouche learning how to do blacksmithing with Katsuragi, reminds me of Mairon learning how to do smithing under Aulë.
Sauron was also a schemer and a manipulator of Kingdoms. And desired to set the world to the way he wants it to be. When Sauron's ring was destroyed, he wandered the ends of Arda as a miserable shade that was lesser than the smallest of creatures. Would Scaramouche meet a similar fate?

  9. I really hope, either in the next patch or his eventual story quest, we will learn what his original name was. I feel like I'm wrong in this theory but what if it's Makoto? It is a unisex name, so it'd still work.

  10. Ok so I had a dream;

I was doing the new archon quest – and i was at the ending part

And we took scaraboobs to see Ei because the traveler, (Lumine in my case), figured Ei would be able to explain the things scara went through better; cuz she also went through 3 tragedies (betrayals, as he thinks they are)

And then she does exactly that, and scara breaksdown and cries like how Ei used to see him cry in his sleep when she tried to house the electro gnosis in him

And at some point after consoling scara, Ei asks if there's anything she can do for him

And scara solemnly tells her about how he was once a prototype, then someone named kunikuzushi, and then a faux god titled scaramouche; but now he's nothing and no one, with not even a name

And so the one thing he asks for is "A name. I want a new name… mother. A new one to free me from my past, and a new one to redeem me of my sins. A new one to prove to me that I can become someone, not to be casted away. That I can… become a better person."

Then Ei smiles and touches his face gently.
"I'm sorry for making you think you were casted away.

    And for your wish,

    Your new name will be-"

THEN I FUCKING WOKE UP FOR SCHOOL DIFIKSOWJCNRJSKWJBCGJAONW

  11. Scaradouche is a whiny manlet…. "Ho no, I had some hard times, time to make it everybody's problem… " Fucker is just a fucking monster, hate the fact they want us to empathize with him

  12. I wondered how Scaramouche and Dottore met again but after Cyno's character quest revealed that trackers exist I think the doctor must have installed one so he can always find him and he just decided to not tell anyone since he wanted to use Scaramouche for a project before taking the gnosis.

Anyway his lore is extremely interesting and sad, but assuming he'll be a playable character hopefully after this next patch we'll still see a lot of him and more character development. Between Unreconciled stars and archon quests he just feels like an important character that will have a decent amount of involvement beyond the usual amount other characters get. Other characters usually don't get involved in high stakes quests outside of their own nation, with casual no to low stakes being the exception like the bartender event or Irodori festival.
Or maybe Scaramouche will stay in Inazuma and we'll only ever see him there, who knows.

  13. Kunikuzushi is neither good nor evil. He is a divine construction made by God. But because he was left unguided by his creator, he has no need for the concept of sin. Therefore, he can never be right or wrong; he just does whatever he likes, as his creator forced him to.

Although humans might see him as evil, that's only because humans are taught what is right and wrong. Since he is not a human, he doesn't need to follow the same rules or moral code as they do.

This man's lore is so fascinating.

  14. I really love Scaramouche. His past, present, and future are all so intriguing to me. His backstory is my fave, It's so meaningful and gives a great insight on his character. It's unfortunate that some people look at it superficially.

I could talk for hours about him lol. He's just a wonderful character and one of the best in Genshin imo, so far he's been handled well. The anticipation of his next appearance, and the speculations of what he might do next, and the slow revelation of his story, I just love it all. The wait was painful, but it was so worth it. It definitely is one of the reasons why I love him. All this info is ingrained in my mind, I might forget my name but not him and his story lmao.
