How The Upcoming Dendro Reactions Will Work in Genshin Impact

We have received our first look at what will happen when Dendro is added to Genshin Impact as a playable element with two new reactions: Bloom and Catalyze. In this video I break down what we know about the reactions from what was shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DjVUfy_Lng&ab_channel=GenshinImpact

  1. the reactions that they showed:
    bloom: hydro + dendro
    catalyze: electro + dendro

bloom generates a small fruit that stays in place, it has 2 reactions.

the first is with Pyro, dealing Pyro dmg to the fruit makes it explode dealing dendro dmg

the 2nd is electro, hitting the fruit with an electro attack makes it home to the closest opponent and hits them dealing dendro dmg

lastly catalyze, they haven't said much about it but this is from leaks, so it's subject to change.

when the reaction "catalyze" is caused by ELECTRO hitting dendro, the opponent takes increased electro dmg for a short duration, buffing electro dmg

and when it's caused by DENDRO hitting electro, it's the same but the opposite, so in that case dendro is being buffed

    again catalyze is from leaks

  2. Tbh I wish they did more with the other elements, like maybe anemo and dendro would increase the area and time afflicted by dendro (like spreading seeds), and cryo and dendro would cause increased dendro dmg or something.

  3. Given the infos, heres my hope, how all ends up

    Part 1
Dendro + Hydro = Bloom > Creates a Life Seed that lasts for 10s. Within this duration it acts as elemental adapter to create basically either with Pyro, Hydro or Electro advanced reactions.
    – Pyro = Explosion > AoE Dendro DMG that leaves a burning soil in order to cause foes catching fire resulting in Burning.
    – Hydro = Poison > AoE Dendro DMG when affected targets move, based on EM
    – Electro = Intensify > AoE Dendro DMG thad shreds the defense vs DMG from Reactions, basically making EM cause more intense results by increasing the EM multiplier with this debuff
    – *Cryo = Wither/Degeneration > AoE Cryo DMG, reduces DEF and creates a temporary zone where nobody can use Skills, even not bosses, everything reduced to just Standard Attacks in order to interrupt enemies from using skills shortly..

Is the duration over, before a reaction with the seed happens, or hit again quickly with Dendro, the Life Seed will bloom to a beautiful flower n create AoE Healing.

Dendro + Electro = Catalyze > Causes Electro DMG that is amplified like Vape/Melt by x2, giving the game simply a third reaction that works like those simple DMG reactions, if triggered by Dendro the amplicator is x1.5

    Part 2

Dendro + Pyro = Burning > explaining simply, how they rebalanced n reworked it, given the fact that the players can actively create this reaction now at free will and not anymore just because of luckily the environment, or enemies being of Dendro Element. It needs to be rebalanced, as active creatable reaction is Burning OP the way it is now

Dendro + Cryo = Illness > AoE Dendro DMG which spreads a disease among hit targets that spreads to unaffected targets that, causing Dendro DMG when it spreads over n reduces ATK
*Cryo Reaction with Bloom then explained too together

Anemo n Geo get not mentioned, as it will be Swirl n Crystallize just as always together with Dendro.

    Part 3

Dendro Resonance and other region related stuff > Dendro Resonance increases Party Max HP or EM by 25% and Dendro Resistance by 40%, thats my guess for its effect

  4. Earlier leaks said that when electro meets dentro it creates a debuff to further electro or dendro damage for a period of time. SO it's like super conduct, but instead of being for physical it's for the elements that created the reaction.

  5. maybe anemo/geo/cryo will all have a single weak reaction to dendro (ie: crystallize, which is the same across the common 4 reactive elements) or maybe they’ll just stay the same as they were before

  6. i don't understand why people are so confused why cryo doesn't react with dendro, elemental reactions mostly take influence from the real world and in the real world, plants in cold climates just stop growing or die so idk how you'd make that into a reaction cause making the plant die wouldn't really do much unlike lighting it on fire or making it grow more with water.

  7. To be honest, I don't want sumeru to release… It is way more info that we need to learn and many more characters. For endgame players it's fun, but for those like me who haven't finished the whole archon quest, will be very difficult. Exploration will be very interesting but at the same time way different. Story quests and world quests are going to increase and we don't know the difficulty of them. And the reactions showed are actually kinda complicated. Everything is full of info and not everything might be understood

  8. 1 plant produced by dendro reactions suck….from what we have seen from tighnari. His E creates a dendro MIST similar to the cryo mist emited by cryo slimes. So im thinking theres going to be characters who can produce more fruits/seeds and this means more reactions.

Traveler is going to be very mid according to what i saw here. Very low dendro application and ICD. I just want collei and tighnari to show us reactions which we WILL see this week once beta starts

  9. 1:47 an interesting thing about enemy defense is that for the most part it's not really a variable in damage calculations. You can essentially just swap it with a character level variable instead in the damage calculations we have. There are two exceptions to this though, during lantern rite there were treasure hoarders who specifically had increased defense until you hit them with the fireworks, and then during the irodori festival one of the combatants could "increase their defense". There hasn't really been enough variability to determine how changes in defense affect the damage calculation (the equation we have is not any official occasion, just something by fans based on in-game numbers), so it will be interesting if a dendro mechanic actually affects defense especially since such a mechanic could change our understanding of the damage formula

  10. I mean leakers said what reactions are a while ago:
    Dendro + Anemo = nothing
    Dendro + Geo = nothing
    Dendro + Pyro = burn
    Dendro + Cryo = nothing
Dendro + electro = increased damage on monster + extra particles of energy
Dendro + hydro = mushrums (of apples now)
