Lumine watching Aether in cutscenes gives me a feeling I can’t describe that Aether can’t replicate when he’s watching Lumine.
And that’s why my headcanon is Aether is the Paimon twin and Lumine is the Abyss twin. And what misogyny would it be to have Lumine as the Abyss twin? Like idk man, being the leader of a fallen nation to take back what’s theirs sounds more badass than a traveller trying to find their twin.
You'd think that Aether and Lumine being easily switched around would prevent this kind of dumbass argument. Take the scene at Stormterror's Lair where one of the siblings is standing there and Abyss Mages call them "Your Highness" regardless of gender, for example. I think the dialogue specifically avoids using gendered language, instead using 'the Traveler'. I might be wrong though.

I like how this lady writes that the game is "misogynistic" and that every character falls in love with Aether, despite the fact that literally not a single female character in the game has outright confessed their love to him (only hint at it more or less). I'm pretty sure if you ask this person for an example, she won't have much to go off of.
On top of that, the dialogue for the female characters is the same for Lumine. If anything, Genshin is pretty inclusive if you ask me.

1. There's only one character in the game that actually says anything romantic to the MC. Ayaka. Other characters' lines could be interpreted as romantic, but they are not inherently or even likely romantic.
2. From that perspective, isn't this tweet kind of homophobic? Is Ayaka only allowed to fall in love with a male? Why not Lumine too? Is Lumine not allowed to fall in love with any of the female characters in game?
So like, honestly, like, this person should, like, totally be cancelled, because like, they didn't like, include like, all minorities and stuff in, like, their tweet.

Aether is on the screen when you first boot up the game so yes he was intended to be the main character BUT picking lumine is still a option

Mihoyo just decided to use Aether for their ads/cut scenes. It's just a choice you make between which MC you choose. People who think that Mihoyo is sexist are the real sexist people.
I use Aether because his design is actually good compared to most self- insert.
Like sure Aether could have been planned to be the main character from the start. Lumane could have just been added as playable so people would have that option and that would be okay. Story and gameplay are two different subjects. Aether can be the main focus of the story even if Lumane is an option for the gameplay. Sure it makes some moments weird or makes it uneven when it comes to trailers and such. But the other option was to not make her playable and have her exclusively a story character. Also on the fact of the people calling Aether a “self insert” please learn more about self inserts cause it’s forcing your personality or what you wish was your personality into a character. Not writing a main character. Aether is written to have world changing powers and abilities he is there for every event end situation that goes down as part of the story. Of course NPCs would like him. You’d like someone too if whenever something was wrong someone was instantly there to help you. Being helpful and likable is part of his character traits not the writers trying to connect to him and force a self insert it’s good writing of making a good protagonist someone we can like, connect to and bond with over the adventure. And Lumane might not be getting the love she deserves as the other main leading character but there are ways to fix that. Maybe try to get mohoyo to switch between characters for trailers or slightly more difficult make two trailers one for each. Try to get them to show Lumane just as much as Aether not try to make Aether into a bad guy just so Lumane can take his place because then if you do succeed what will you do when the tables turn and Aether mains are mad? Both characters deserve equal treatment and neither deserve to be dragged through the mud for the other

I don't think this person has checked the voice lines of the male characters XD. It doesn't matter if you choose Lumine or Aether, almost all the males and females characters have some kind of crush with the MC, I personally play with Aether and love to collect husbandos, do I hate women for that reason, then? Of course not. I don't understand how did she get to the conclusion the game was misogynist.
They do realize the only thing that changes in the dialogue of the characters when you choose a different mc is the pronouns used for us, right? The characters all still flirt with the mc/us the same no matter who we choose 😑
these people on twitter also seem to be missing ALL of the hidden lgbtq stuff in the game, which is frankly why the dialog all works regardless of which gender you choose for your traveler. My Lumine loves all of her dates. That fool on twitter can just stfu.
