  27. ALSO not sure if your chat made you watch the Xiao teaser you missed since it wasn't in the playlist so I'll just explain a bit more just in case because he's my fav character!

    Xiao is an adeptus, who are magical beings, and is at least 2000+ years old from what we know. He serves under the Geo Archon aka God and is known as the 'Vigilant Yaksha'. The Yakshas used consist of 5 people whose duties were to protect Liyue by killing enemies and other gods. However, as time passed, the wrath of these vengeful gods accumulated into 'karma'. 3 Yakshas died due to this, and one allegedly disappeared without a trace, leaving only Xiao who has survived the karma so far. This 'karmic debt' basically means Xiao is constantly suffering, and the more enemies and monsters he kills, the worse it gets. Thats why during his ult (when he dons the Yaksha mask), he loses HP. I find it cool the gameplay is directly affected by lore there.

    I purposely didn't go into HIS past, just what the teaser was about. He's very interesting and I love the fact he's still doing his duties to this day even as the only Yaksha left and has no hatred in his heart despite everything. Personally I think if you watch the Xiao Demo in Japanese or Chinese, you'll understand the character better because the English VA was directed to be a lot more aggressive and forceful for some reason which isn't really how his character is. Blunt and direct maybe, but not aggressive at all. Also not sure WHEN you're planning to play or how consist you'll be, but the next update in Jan-Feb should be the next Lantern Rite in Liyue and Xiao /should/ appear there so maybe if you're in Liyue by that time you'll be able to meet him ^_^

  30. To Exblain wrt Xiao, he’s basically just traumatized from thousands of years of fighting demons born from the lingering resentment of dead gods. His Karma is actually entirely equalized, but he suffers terrible ptsd nightmares so he thinks his karmic debt is still extremely heavy. Because he was forced to kill innocents and eat people’s dreams by the god he served before being taken in by Rex Lapis as one of the five guardian Yakshas, he doesn’t even consider that he could have entirely “paid off” the debt of karma. He actually has an animal form like all the other adepti, that being a Peng, also called Garuda.

    Also he likes almond tofu because apparently its texture is somehow similar to the dreams he used to eat which is indescribably cute.

  33. Wooooo.. another great reaction! I'm so happy you actually put effort into thinking about some of the things you see.. cuz i was annoyed and frustrated quite a lill bit by some reactors who watch the character trailers and just dont bother to think logically about anything at all, for example almost no one listened/looked enough for klees demo and story about being put in time-out.. or the ''monster story''.. So it was sooooooo increadibly refreshing to see you catch on in an instant ! like i've said before i cant wait to see more, since you make it feel (and it also seems so ;D) you are genuinly intrigued by stuff you decide to check out.. which makes it even better !!

  35. This game is absolutely beautiful, but /especially/ during the levelling and exploration process. If you like world exploration, you'll absolutely love this game. It's beautiful and the story is good enough to keep you interested. I cried a few times, which is genuinely a hard thing to make me do. Good luck ♡

  36. Your pronunciation is meh at best, but thats fine because even the official english voice actors don't pronounce the names accurately (You'll literally hear 3-4 different variations of someone's name or a place because it's hard for the EN VAs to speak our language)

  44. xiao is an intresting one. hes isnt posessed but… hes a demigod with the mission to kill all demons but hes cursed by demonic energy. when he puts on the mask he unleashes his full power but that curse kicks in as well. in that state hes incredibly powerfull but it slowly eats away at his own lifeforce.
