Spoilers for Act III and IV of the Natlan Archon Quest in 5.1.

This is about Capitano being from Khaenri’ah and his possible identity as Knight Marshal Anfortas, commander of Schwanenritter. Kaeya Alberich is mentioned too. Regardless of his identity, though, he seems to be familiar with the Ronova, the Shade of Death, and has some other motivations… as Ronova may have something to do with the curse of immortality. Maybe the pyro archon Mavuika won’t have to die?

  1. People seem to get things mixed up Capitano was COMMANDER back then bot not a CAPTAIN like Dainsleif was.
Captains and Marshals are a different position higher than commanders thats why Capitano cant be the CAPTAIN of the Swan Knights Anfortas.

  2. WHOOOO ANOTHER KHAENRI’AHN TO ADD TO THE ROSTER, ONE WHO’S VERY LIKELY AN ALBERICH LESGOOOOOO!!! Major bonus points if this crack theory is right and he is setting out to prove the gods are fallible and wrong and is just a sweetheart trying to prevent another nation from falling like his own did.

Also, for what it’s worth, I think Capitano not mentioning whether or not he fought in Sumeru is a deal-breaker. It’d make sense that he’s not disclosing every little part of his history to everyone at this point. Him being Anfortas Alberich still feels like potentially the most satisfying theory as to his idendity IMHO, since it means we can finally have an identity for Kaeya’s sexy pirate grandpa. Not to mention Sumeru borders Natlan, so, besides the fact that there’s a big-ass desert to cross, it’s really not unreasonable to imagine how Capitano, if he is Anfortas, could’ve gone from Sumeru to Natlan. Or from Khaenri’ah to Sumeru to Natlan, considering that Khaenri’ah is beneath Sumeru.

On that note, if Capitano is Anfortas Alberich, yes it would mean that Kaeya has some kind of connection with the fatui by having a relative among them, buuuttt it doesn’t mean that Kaeya is aware of said connection or makes any use of it. If anything, it could serve as a startling and dramatic reveal later, which will probably cause this poor man so much stress because Diluc is probably not going to take it well. Although there is also the theory that Diluc’s own dad might’ve been a harbinger, which is a theory I admittedly believe in quite strongly, so if anything, discovering that they both had/have a paternal ancestor among the harbingers could be something they can, oddly enough, bond over.

Lastly, and this is a very small note, one that I think you might’ve replied to in a comment in a previous video at some point, and if this is just me being annoyingly nitpicky I apologize. I notice how, when you refer to the swan knights of Khaenri’ah, the Schwanenritter, you just say “Schwanenritter” with no “the”. Which is like referring to the name of this organization/group of people like it’s the name of a single person, or like saying “swan knights” without a “the”, so it doesn’t make grammatical sense. Is there a reason why for this? Why you don’t say “the Schwanenritter”? I don’t want to be rude and I apologize if I am being so.

  3. with the buff to super conduct, i think capitano will be playable since no other harbinger is having any appearance, so if they continue the trend of a harbinger (excluding inazuma) he will be playable

    in being delusional i know 🙁 😢

  4. OKAY BUT DID YOU NOTICE THAT THE BROKEN MOON/PLANET THING FROM THE CRACK IN THE SKY LOOKS JUST LIKE THE "FALLEN STAR" THAT KID SHOWED US IN THE CRATER AT THE VERY SOUTH OF NATLAN???

it was an obscure and super short world quest that involved Mama Coco from The Children of Echoes tribe. That "star fragment" is the same colour and has similar markings as the broken moon/planet you see when Mavuika breaks open the sky. And the crater is literally right in front of the remnants that you can just barely see up in the sky, still.

I also did some experimenting and you can't see the fragments outside of Natlan and they literally disappear as you leave Natlan and reappear as you walk/swim back in. Very very interesting developments

  5. This video gave me a closer look at Capitano’s design, and now knowing that he’s a rotting corpse under that armor, I noticed his inner jacket has a heart shape, with chains dangling from it in what looks to be the shape of a ribcage. Mans is a zombie and it took me this long to realize they were spelling it out for us.

  6. A big smile slowly grew on my face during your explanation on the paradox Capitano can make by cheating Ronova's rules and the heavenly principles. It's so damn smart and I really hope something like this will happen once the story continues in 5.3.
Fantastic video! You definitely deserve more recognition.

  7. It's not true that only Khanrians were cursed. Everyone living there was cursed. It's just that the people who were from other nations became hillichurls. The reason Caribert became a hillichurl and his father didn't is because his mother was from Mondstat.

  8. To add to your theory on capitano's participation in the pilgrimage, mavuika literally asks him specifically out of all people in the ignition " are you brave enough to compete " not only that but while everyone else had their picture burning capitano was the only one that didnt and remained in tack in reference to " the winners shall burn bright while the losers must turn to ash "

  9. Oh hell yeah I love how you put llama this together, I really feel it follows from everything we’ve seen in the AQs so far. Capitano being Anfortas would be a really interesting avenue to explore in relation to the Wagner operas as well, to see how that all fits together… much to think about!! Fantastic video as always Rooze 💖

  10. Ngl I'm obsessed with the idea of Capitano being kind of like a weird uncle to Kaeya

I feel like Capitano's goal might have something to do with saving lost souls (or something similar) since those were mentionend quite a lot during the quest. He also has some sort soul-ferrying ability (that's what Ororon called it I think) so maybe he wants to help those souls that escaped the ley lines in Natlan and/or in Khaenri'ah and put them to rest, which would be a nice little parallel to Caribert and his bedtime story. Capitano could have made a deal with Ronova in exchange for this own death for the ability to act like a vessel for lost souls (kinda like Ororon). Not sure how that would make sense though if we assume Ronova is the one cursed them in the first place…..
Unrelated, but I was also thinking about how Mavuika's death could mean that her ancient name gets deleted from the ley lines, so that the pyro archon will never have existed. I'm sure that thing holds a LOT of memories and since "Death is just a one-time loss of memory"…….. that would kinda make sense to me.

Anyway, I prefer your theory though. It's JUICY and I need Capitano to live. All those death flags are stressing me out lmao

  11. This is probably too obvious to mention here but I will say anyway: Capitano vying for the archon's position itself would also, by default, award him the Pyro Gnosis, which he could then pass along to the Tsarista. Also holy shit the Fatui are absolutely the coolest part of this game

  12. Oh, one other thing that may support your theory about Capitano and Dain being commanders of each 'half' of knights: They are both experiencing the khanrian curse oppositely: Dain's mind is rotting but body is fine, Capitano's mind seems OK but his body is rotting. Interesting…..

  13. i wonder if the reasons khaenriahn’s can’t die and everyone in kr at the time of the cataclysm turned into hillichurls is some kind of safeguard against abyssal corruption/“forbidden knowledge” to the leylines. if the leylines carry the memories and experiences of the dead across teyvat, as they do in the night kingdom, any incursion would be catastrophic. i wonder if that’s what the “priority” system of the rules is designed to circumvent.

  14. I’m quite disappointed this makes so much sense. I’ve been trying to find a way for the traveler to become the pyro archon. It would be a helluva bargaining chip to bring to the Tsarista. But now my copium based cannon is gone lol
